I'm back! For like the billionth time, but still. I was inspired to start posting again on my photoblog.
      For two reasons:

      1. Taking a trip to Italy soon. Obviously a plethora of photos, wish me luck during post!
      2. I've got a new camera, a Nikon D7000, so why shouldn't I?!

Hopefully I can keep this up for a while, I have about 5 in right now. Go check it out! Thanks.

In all honesty, I have a completely straight man crush on Adam Lambert, but I'll spare you my reminiscing and anger of him not winning Idol. (RANDY!)
Here's his new single, "Never Close Our Eyes." It's great, and it makes me so excited for his new album!

If you've been following MelodramaticProductions at all, we've done a few new things. Just to catch up, redesigned logo, YouTube page, Facebook page, and a few new films! They're doing well. The first, "Poison," was mostly a test done with our new camera, so not a crazy storyline, but a tad entertaining. The newest addition to our film family is "The Pen." We are very proud of it and are happy to be gaining traction on views and getting friendly feedback, it's encouraging. Here are a couple links.

      "The Pen."
      "Poison."

We also tried something fun. We teamed up with another film company, Entourage Productions, to film a short titled "Winco." Check that out as well.

If I didn't add the links to our Facebook and YouTube page, here they are.

      FUTURE PLANS:
We are hoping to upgrade to a better sound capturing system by this Summer, so be looking for some new stuff from us with better audio!

      In conclusion,
We'd appreciate it if you Like out Facebook page and Subscribe to our YouTube channel!

      For now,
      Melodramatic Productions Team.

We're not dead! After getting a few things in order and upgrading a here and there, we recently put together a new short, "Poison." It's about half a day's work, and we're happy with it.

A couple new things have happened since last time.

Go like our new Facebook Page!

Take a peek at our redesigned YouTube Channel!

We'll be upgrading to better sound in the near future so we can make movies with sound! Right now, at best, it sounds crappy. People will forgive for bad video but not bad audio, or so it goes.

I'm excited for what we will be putting out later this year! We have a few scripts written and everything seems to be falling into place quite nicely!

      Until then,
      MelodrmaticProductions Team.

      Making Movies: Melodramatic Productions

      Logo4

I’ve never been good with New Years resolutions. It’s usually silly things like be healthy, more organized. Yeah, that never happens. Here’s what I’m serious about though. And I’m serious, not in a cliché way or anything. Truth be told? I love making movies, short films to be specific. There’s always been a few problems though. I rarely ever do it in an organized fashion, and I didn’t ever have them under a label which I think makes you care about them so much more. At any rate, I’ve decided to do that coming the beginning of this New Year.

Previously, my friends had gone under the label of Entourage Productions. I was always encouraged to make a film with them, almost did on a few occasions, but then again, there were a few problems. Things like where I live, meeting, and idea ownership became difficult. Idea. New label? Sounds great! Now exactly who is that with? Great. Now my idea is crushed. Well, no. I realized creating a new label allowed me to do a few things.

      1. Flexibility to work with whoever, of course with the usual people included, which would include friends who would like to make movies and I think would be good at it.
      2. Collaboration. Under no circumstances would I want to do something separate and separate only from Entourage (my friends). I want to be able to work with my friends under that label to come up with ideas and make films together.
      3. Ownership. Going under a different name would allow me to have more control over my films and ideas. Why would I care about this? The problem arises when I want to make a film with certain people and I’m not able to with Entourage, but in a case of belonging to Entourage and Entourage only, it would be credited to Entourage by default I would think. So that’s my third reason. Again all with the ability to collaborate and work separate. I want advantage here, not disadvantage.

How is it going to work? What am I going to make? Short films are a great venue to work on. They can be funny, sad, dramatic, and they don’t require a ton of effort. 5 minutes is considered a good max as not to loose an audience. Also, spoofs, which fall under funny, but are much shorter than short films, are great too. I’ve done those, again, unofficially (meaning not sharing, or publishing) and they were great fun to make. So I may end up concentrating on those fields for productions.

What am I using for video/audio? I’ve had a Nikon camera for a while. A Nikon D5000. It has fairly decent video, but audio problems inevitably arise. It’s a still camera, and not dedicated to video. Video is good, but audio is terrible. However, I have a Yeti Microphone which does fantastic audio and I recently found out it can be used as a boom mic! I need to find the cord to use it with my camera. I could also have it record into GarageBand on and iPad. So, I’m not sure how to go about that, but I have a few options nonetheless.

How often would I publish films? I don’t know if I would have a set routine where they are published by this day, this time. It may be spontaneous. At most, monthly. That would give enough time to write, film, edit, produce, etc.

Name? Melodramatic Productions struck me. So I’ll use that!

So there’s my New Years Resolution! I hope it’s one I stick to, and I hope I can put out a lot in 2012 that’s worth watching.

      Happy New Years!
